2023 Record: 7-6 (3-5)

AP Ranking: 40

Head Coach: Mark Stoops

The QB carousel continues for Kentucky this season, but they bring in their best prospect yet: Former 5-Star, Brock Vandagriff from Georgia. As great as people thought Will Levis was, Vandagriff’s ceiling is much higher and may help bring the first 3,000 yard passer to Lexington in over a decade. Mark Stoops has quietly secured seven winning campaigns in just the last eight seasons, now he’ll be relying heavily on the newcomer.

Outside of Vandagriff, the offense has a number of glaring holes. RB Ray Davis is off to the league and they’ll be looking to former Ohio State RB, DeaMonte Trayanum, to carry the workload. The offensive line very well may be the bottleneck to the offense, but it remains to be seen. They will be relying on three transfers opening day to solve their issues in the trenches.

A season ago, the defense was a top run stopping unit in College Football. On the outside, CB Maxwell Hairston returns who gathered 5 interceptions last season. He is one of the true elite coverage corners in the SEC and will be playing on Sundays in the near future.

Stoops will find a way to get the most out of this team as he always does. On paper, there isn’t much to look at other than the hope for Vandagriff, but I do expect things to click. They will be aided by one of the easier schedule draws in the SEC, matching up against only four ranked programs heading into the season.

Record Prediction: 7-5
