Championship Saturday has come and gone. The biggest shake-up that could have happened, happened. Alabama took down #1 Georgia and ended their 29-Game win streak. Most are assuming that the committee will weigh Conference Championship/Head-to-Head heavily. However, if you truly want the best 4 teams, there is only one answer.

Think we’re crazy? Ask yourself this. If Georgia plays Texas or FSU tomorrow, who is favored? If Alabama plays them, who is favored? At this point in the season, the eye test favors the two SEC programs. That’s not a knock on what Texas or FSU has accomplished, but you’d be crazy to think they either of those teams would actually be favored in a head-to-head.

Put the best four teams in. Heck, expand the playoff. I would argue Ohio State deserves to be there too. Next year can’t come soon enough.
